Position Specific Description

This position is for an environmental, land use and zoning, development attorney with a minimum of three years of experience. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have a background in either (1) development work, including land use and zoning work, representing developers and builders at the local government, state and federal level, or (2) environmental legal work, including ESA, NEPA, Corps and other subjects. This background may include government, in-house, NGO or other relevant experience.

The attorney may also have experience in administrative law, representing clients in quasi-judicial hearings and administrative legal challenges, and appearing before commissions for development and other approvals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides written and oral legal advice to clients

• Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization

• Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel

• Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar

• High School Grad / GED

• Juris Doctorate

• Bachelor's Degree

• Experience: 2+ years
