Position Specific Description

In this principal financial analyst role, you will be responsible for monitoring, reporting and maximizing business performance of NextEra Energy Transmission’s (NEET) Operating assets. The role works closely with financial support functions such as the Finance Center of Excellence and NEET’s financial team to support actual operations accounting in order to maximize the financial performance of NEET and monitor overall financial performance. The position will be responsible for working with accounting functions to ensure correct processes are in place to capture accurate and detailed accounting and financial performance. This position works with financial planning and executives to understand drivers of variances compared to the financial plan to optimize performance or re-forecast financial plans. This role will collaborate with the internal business management team, as well as matrix relationships within the company. The ideal candidate is comfortable multi-tasking and will understand how multiple pieces fit together and impact end-results.

Responsibilities include profit and loss accountability, budgeting and forecasting, capital project monitoring, compliance with financing and regulatory requirements, maintaining close working relationship with stakeholders and participating in ad hoc and special projects. Ideal candidates may have CPA, MBA and/or CFA and Regulated energy industry experience. Additionally, experience in SAP reporting (BOBJ, BPC) and regulated reporting (FERC) is preferred. (Travel is expected to be approximately <10% of time).

Job Overview

Employees in this role supports Senior Management decision making via financial modeling, including but not limited to, revenue requirement and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department’s forecasting models• Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.• Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services• Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies• Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings• Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management • Acts as a mentor to lower level employees• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience• Experience: 7+ years
