Position Specific Description

Be part of an Agile Scrum team focused on Cloud optimization, resulting in business value through reduced cost, improved performance, and shared best-practices. Learn both technical and financial aspects of Cloud computing. Discover cost optimization opportunities and facilitate/enable NEER IT application teams to execute Cloud DevOps efforts. Empower application teams with data-driven recommendations for how to better leverage AWS Cloud services. Work closely with NextEra Cloud Core Team and AWS (Amazon) teams.​

Technical/Functional Skills you will Build:

  • Use AWS tools such as Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Trusted Advisor.

  • Write and implement CloudFormation scripts, AWS Lambda scripts.

  • Analyze large amounts of data and provide tailored recommendations for improvements.

  • Learn to work with various areas of IT: cybersecurity, infrastructure, application development.

Required Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to learn new domains.

  • Programming skills can help but not absolutely required

Preferred Qualifications:

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects

  • Completes challenging projects and assignments

  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program

  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
