Position Specific Description
Under limited supervision, position will lead team members in projects related to energy industry specific GIS application, technology tool, and database development, research, spatial analysis, and map production supporting prospecting and early stage development ideas.
Position will identify, evaluate and execute renewable energy project development by leveraging spatial and other industry specific data sources. Position may act as an individual contributor or may act as project leader for others in the department and across business units.
Majority of time will be spent working with management and project developers to understand and prioritize user requirements; coordinating successful completion of projects including quality deliverables; Data modeling to design and support moderately complex special products including maps, digital data, reports and statistics; identifying and delivering innovative solutions to meet dynamic business needs for the company; producing high quality maps and posters for management to utilize in communicating and marketing the company's strategy to state and federal government representatives; providing analysis and support to all business units within the Company' developing and providing GIS application/tool training and mentoring; and providing support to users of desktop and web GIS applications.
Bachelor's degree in geography, information systems, information technology, land planning, or urban & regional planning, along with more than 5 years related experience with at least two years in a leadership capacity required.
Master's degree in related field and experience with ESRI ArcGIS and energy development experience recommended.
Employees in this role provide Geographic Information System (GIS) data analysis, data mining, technical support and database maintenance to meet Florida City Gas internal and external customers’ requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assists with development and maintenance of GIS data resources to be utilized for geographic data of Florida City Gas
Assists with the data gathering and compilation, Geographic Information Systems, GPS, mapping, and data analysis
Performs varied data gathering and entry to create, maintain, display and update Geographic Information Systems databases, coverages, and linkages to various GIS databases
Produces accurate maps and other representations of data for business use and field work activity
Performs field visits to visually locate items to resolve conflicting information and ensure the accuracy of data
Records and documents details of map updates, additions and/or deletions
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
