Position Specific Description

This position is on the Environmental Outreach team of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting an innovative partnership between solar development and environmental stewardship. Out of state travel may be required and this poistion covers the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States. Applicant must have relevant vegetation management and environmental experience with the ability to lead, with limited direction, new corporate stewardship opportunities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Assist with program development and strategy

  • Perform project planning, budget and schedule management

  • Work cross functionally to develop achievable and sustainable stewardship elements

  • Preparing site specific solar energy facility vegetation management plans that describe site preparation, installation, and long term maintenance

  • Develop/manage vendor contracts/purchase orders/invoices

  • Manage program communications and updates for internal and external stakeholders

  • Track success of program elements

  • Maintain current knowledge of pertinent national, state, and local level policies and regulations related to environmental enhancement on solar projects

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as company policies

  • Contributes to improved system reliability, customer satisfaction, and cost-effective environmental solutions

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of flora/fauna and habitats in Midwest region; familiarity with ecological restoration and/or agricultural land management practices

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills as well as analysis, problem solving, leadership, and process/project management skills

  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with diverse groups including operations and maintenance staff, developers, other industry representatives, NGO stakeholders, vendors and consultants

  • Proficient at interacting with public at open houses, public meetings or during other outreach events

  • Ability to travel with the potential for overnight stays

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ESRI ArcGIS software

Job Overview

This job is responsible for obtaining environmental approvals, licenses and permits for construction and operation of new and existing NextEra, Inc. facilities from Federal, State and Regional agencies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the company's compliance with environmental requirements

  • Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions

  • Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers

  • Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
