Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for an Engineer for the Combustion Turbine Fleet Team in Engineering and Operations Support Services. This position will include responsibilities for leading technical support for a large fleet of combustion turbines, with ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, and fleet reliability improvements. Additionally, this role will include working on strategic initiatives to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability.

Responsibilities

The CTFT Engineer will support and be accountable for a number of key tasks

  1. Support trouble shooting and technical decision making for fleet assets, ensuring consistency across the fleet.

  2. Manage documentation and currency of Engineering Requests, Work Orders, OEM Bulletins and change management in our work management system; Maximo.

  3. Actively participate in strategic/proactive efforts to improve productivity and advance fleet reliability.

  4. Support parts planning and annual budget planning, ensuring that plans account for fleet lessons learned.

  5. Support root cause investigations into component failures or performance shortfalls.

  6. Develop project scope documents for vendor bidding process and work execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of turbomachinery engineering experience

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and/or field experience

  • Strong communications/presentation skills
