Position Specific Description
Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a Property Accountant II at its corporate headquarters in Juno Beach. In this role you will be responsible for property accounting transactions related to Power Generation Assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, FERC and FPSC as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Power Plant would be helpful but not required, while attention to details and ability to think independently is desired.
Primary responsibilities include the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, internal as well as external (FERC and FPSC) reporting, which will require interfacing with other business units to ensure complete and accurate information is recorded. Ad-hoc projects and/or process improvement activities. This position reports to the Regulated Property Accounting Lead for Power Generation and New Construction.

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Assists in preparing financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company
• Keeps abreast of and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
• Ensures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
• Prepares schedules and journal entries
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
