Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) – Lubrication Specialist
Summary of Position Duties
Collect and analyze lubrication data for plant equipment. Maintain and update the Plant’s lubrication listing. Review and optimize oil inventory and on-hand balances to ensure availability of material. Serve as subject matter expert for all processes related to lubrication and recommend best practices and improvements. Recommend corrective actions for issues identified. Accomplish routine rounds for critical equipment and communicate changes, issues, or deficiencies. Initiate investigations and/or root cause analysis for equipment failures. Review maintenance strategies for equipment and recommend optimizations as required. Coordinate efforts between multiple departments and establish trusting relationships within the same. Perform all activities with the highest customer service satisfaction at the center. Plan and execute new technology installations as appropriate. Recommend technology and tool purchases to improve the CBM department’s performance/capabilities. Support the CBM team efforts in all technologies. Coordinate all activities between the plant and in accordance with the Southern Company Services Performance and Reliability group. This position requires on-call availability and there may be some relocation assistance available for qualifying candidates.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine routes and analyze equipment performance via OIS, Maximo, PDMA, InsightCM
Maintain, update, and optimize the plant’s lubrication listing
Inform and instruct personnel in the appropriate processes for performing lubrication tasks
Serve as the lubrication subject matter expert for the plant
Effectively utilize Maximo to communicate, maintain, and review CBM Technology Examinations, maintenance recommendations, Equipment Assessments, case histories, and cost-benefit analysis
Guide Maintenance Strategy and provide Operational Guidance in the expertise area
Communicate with Plant Management, Corporate Management, Vendor Management, Peer Groups and Utility Experts concerning operation, maintenance repairs, replacement, modifications, improvements, and schedules.
Establish an ongoing relationship with key vendors; gather and analyze acceptance data on new/rebuilt equipment
Research to stay informed of latest PDM technology developments; participate in CBM/PDM user groups, and communicate with other CBM personnel to share information and expertise
Position includes callout responsibilities
Work with multiple reporting technologies to summarize findings (Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, etc.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial environment
Preferred experience with Spectro Scientific Minilab 153 Oil Analysis System or similar
Proven interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with a wide range of electronic field equipment and tools
Strong organization and analytical skills
Self-starter who can work independently
Must have software skills with Microsoft Office
Preferred experience with Maximo and Oracle
Strong ability to build and sustain relationships
Strong organization and analytical skills
Proven ability to effectively handle crisis situations
