This position may be filled as an Engineer II, III, Senior or Senior Lead, based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. Based on qualifications, this position may also work out of any Entergy Nuclear site including our nuclear division hearquarters in Jackson, MS, Arkansas Nuclear One - Russellville, AR, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station - Port Gibson, MS, River Bend Station - St Francisville, LA, or Waterford 3 - Killona, LA (outside New Orleans).

Job Summary/Purpose

Engineering Programs Manager will act as program owner and overall fleet lead responsible for development of program basis documents, implementation procedures, primary program interface with external regulatory bodies, development of testing and inspection strategies to meet all design basis requirements, regulatory commitments and industry leading equipment reliability. The focus engineering programs will be the ASME Operation and Maintenance Inservice Testing (IST) program and the associated sub-programs to include IST, Snubbers, Check Valves and Relieve Valves.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility and ownership of the fleet Inservice Testing Program (will qualify and support the other ASME OM Code programs Check Valves, Relief Valves and Snubbers as part of small group team)

  • Act as the central fleet Program point of contact for external oversight organizations

  • Engage with, and sit on, industry working groups and ASME OM Code committees

  • Ensure the fleet Programs are being implemented based on ASME OM Code requirements and industry best practices

  • Monitor and drive industry OE implementation/corrective actions across the fleet

  • Develop inspection and testing plans for the fleet based on historical performance, trending, long range plan and ASME OM Code requirements.

  • Develop program long range plans based on cross-functional interaction and feedback from the site Engineering, Operations, Outage Management and Maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain program basis and implementation procedures for the fleet

  • Develop fleet wide program performance indicators to include the comprehensive action plans for underperforming program metrics and present to fleet and site leadership teams

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level.)

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Engineer II: 2+ years experience (1year with a M.S.)

  • Engineer III: 4+ years experience

  • Senior Engineer: 6+ years experience (5+ years with PE)

  • Senior Lead Engineer: 10+ years of experience (8+ years with a M.S./PMP/P.E.)

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledgeable in ASME OM code program requirements for nuclear power plants is desired.

  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.

  • Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft desktop software.

  • Knowledgeable of probabilistic risk analysis methods. Skilled at system analysis.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
