Oversees nuclear fleet operations training programs. Responsible for facilitating alignment and providing governance over all aspects of Operations training, including the operations examination process and simulator operation and configuration management.
Provide governance over the accredited and non-accredited portions of the operations training programs. Provide governance over other broad-based fleet training initiatives related to operations training.
Review corporate training work assignments to ensure the staff is responding appropriately to fleet priorities. Drive standardization of fleet-wide operations training programs to achieve common qualifications, common training materials, and common training program structures.
Represent the Director of Training at meetings with industry, regulators, INPO, etc. to discuss and resolve matters effecting Nuclear Training and the accreditation process.
Negotiate with vendors to acquire training services. Oversee the development of training lessons and materials for fleet-wide courses.
Review and evaluate performance of site training departments as related to execution of operations training programs, including simulator training, NRC exam development, and ASER development.
Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on issues related to fleet training.
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. degree in Engineering or other scientific related discipline generally associated with power plant operations or Equivalent Experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
8 years of experience in nuclear training, maintenance, operations, radiation protection, chemistry or PS&O. 3 years supervisory/superintendent experience in training at an operating nuclear power plant. 3 years experience in nuclear operator training.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.
