Consumers Energy Sr Treasury Analyst in JACKSON, Michigan

Location:

This position is assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI. The candidate must be within a daily commutable distance for the location or willing to relocate (relocation package is available to those who qualify).

We are looking for: Sr Treasury Analyst

The Senior Treasury Analyst is responsible for overseeing the tracking and analysis of CMS Energy's financial actions, paying close attention to credit, cash flow, income, and liquid assets. The incumbent will examine business plans, budgets, expenses, and future investments to determine if the organization's money is being utilized properly and make recommendations to improve CMS Energy cash management and investment strategies. The incumbent will ensure that all treasury and financial statements are balanced and accounted for, identify discrepancies, and suggest ways to improve processes or increase savings. Responsible for documenting processes and procedures to train, mentor, and coach other analysts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field with four (4) or more years’ experience withtreasuryrelatedactions,financialtransactions,etc.

  • [OR] Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field with eight (8) or more years’ experience withtreasuryrelatedactions,financialtransactions,etc.

  • [OR] High School Diploma with twelve (12) or more years of experience withtreasuryrelatedactions,financialtransactions,etc.

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Master degree is preferred

In this role, you will :

  • Identify and drive process improvements across the treasury function through automation

  • Optimize borrowing and investment strategies based on daily cash and liquidity management

  • Ensure accurate and timely production of high-level internal management reports and analyses

  • Lead various other strategic treasury-related projects

  • Review incoming and outgoing payments and financial transactions for accuracy

  • Track, report and correct any anomalies and provide details to leadership

  • Document transactions and update ledgers and the financials database, review and validate all entries for accuracy and reporting

  • Analyze cash flow processes and make suggestions for improvement. Developing cash management, investment, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Research industry trends to stay up-to-date on new innovations and provide updates and process guidance to leadership

  • Update internal processes and provide coaching to subordinate analyst

  • Ensure the organization is in compliance with all financial and legal regulations. Implement financial policies and procedures

  • Maintain and foster good relationships with banking partners

  • Prepare complex financial forecasts such as revenue, expenses, and loan estimations

  • Create regular reports for distribution and prepare and present regular treasury reports, budgets, financial documents, and strategies to management

  • Determine procurement of funds and monitor investments and collections
