The Supply Chain (SC) Inventory Analytics Manager is accountable for using data and analysis to create inventory strategies to optimize the inventory for Consumers Energy, ensuring we are carrying the appropritae levels of inventory to support the SC organzation and business partners. The Manager oversees and manages a staff that provides the long-term inventory strategy and support for SC and Business Partners and contributes to SC projects. The Manager collaborates with SC and Business Partners to obtain buy-in for inventory strategy as it relates to the end-to-end integrated demand and supply planning process; Identifies and implements leading practices. They actively build and maintain trust with business partners to enable team collaboration to establish and adjust all material inventory strategies for the company and collaborate and communicate with all levels of cross-functional company leadership. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning.

Position Accountabilities : The Inventory Analytics Manager’s primary accountabilities are as follows:

Analytics : This is a highly analytical role that oversees and leads the Supply Chain inventory analytics staff. Identifies opportunities using data analytics to add value to SC and Business Partner practices. Leads collaboration efforts with SC and Business Partners to deploy analytics to make informed business decisions and improve business results. Continually assesses and refines models and analyses for accuracy and usefulness. Prepares clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to help communicate messages effectively to key stakeholders and leaders. Identifies and leads implementation of leading practices for SC analytics.

Inventory Strategy and Optimization : Oversees and leads the inventory strategy for the company. Leads collaboration efforts with Materials & Logistics Management and Business Partners to improve planning and forecasting processes for inventoried materials. Identifies and implements leading practices for inventory strategy, demand planning and forecasting. Establishes appropriate metrics and dashboards for inventory strategy and material risk. Leads and supports emergent materials issues to continuously improve and adapt inventory strategy to support company initiatives. Identify and lead problem resolution when aggregated inventory levels are not achieving business plan objectives.

Budget and Resource Alignment : Collaborates with the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning to acquire and deploy resources based on functional and Business Partner needs. Makes recommendations and leads business case development for tool and system enhancements related to inventory strategy and supply chain planning.

Talent Recruitment and Development : Supports the recruitment and development strategy, established by the Supply Chain and People & Culture, to identify, recruit, train, and develop talent for SC Inventory Analytics. Forecasts department needs based on Business Partner plans to build and maintain a talent management plan for SC Inventory Analytics.

Continuous Improvement : Implements the framework, metrics, and goals for continuous improvement. To achieve process excellence and stay current with industry innovations, the Manager identifies and drives, in collaboration with the department leadership, leading practices throughout the organization. Communicates initiatives and improvements to Business Partners as appropriate. Collaborates with business partners to identify opportunities to optimize Supply Chain collaboration with all end to end projects and planned work.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS : The Inventory Analytics Manager must possess the following qualifications and experience:

Technical Expertise:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or another related field

Less than a Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or Industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance (11+years)

Proficient in data analytics

Excellent analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving skills

Proficient with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI and MS Office Suite

SAP experience preferred

Work Experience :

3+ years of relevant work experience

Supply Chain performance reporting experience, preferably within utilities
