Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. We support this effort by working to meet customer expectations. Customer Service is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings.
This position will be a member of the Training and Knowledge Management team in the Professional Services, Support, and Integration department of the Customer Service Operations Division (CSOD).
The Systems Analyst/Developer will work closely with the Senior Advisor of Information Management for CSOD to build and support knowledgebase and workflow applications for critical Customer Service operational business functions that have been developed by, and are maintained by CSOD.
In addition to building, and supporting business functions sites and knowledgebase for CSOD, this position will also be expanding on the foundation for knowledge and information management that has been established in CSOD. This work involves redesigning the knowledgebase framework and upholding the information management processes to enable employees to work more efficiently.
Another primary function of this work will be to ensure we are equipped to receive, store, and maintain the knowledge capital as a result of the Customer Service Re-Platform project.
Collaborate with Senior Advisor and information management team providing recommended solution or approach to enhance CSOD knowledgebase. Responsibilities include establishing project schedules, track deliverables, and report out to senior management on progress. Establish relationships with other SCE organizations (such as IT and Enterprise Information Governance) in order to ensure partnerships and leveraging standard solutions for SCE.
Interface with clients, including senior management, to understand business requirements and design solutions which improve workflow, increase efficiencies in cost and time, and reduce company risk. Ability to interview clients and understand the business objectives to determine the best approach. Develop User Interface (UI) mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look.
Provide technical guidance in use of SharePoint features with clients (act as SharePoint consultant regarding functional details and enterprise governance impacts). Conduct thorough impact analysis and integration verification before making any major or minor changes to the SharePoint environment. Design technology solutions using current suite of advanced tools. Build SharePoint page navigation based on engineering design, page layout, and overall tool look and feel of the SharePoint solution.
Implement enhancements, assess and grant access requests in accordance to information management governance, and complete break fixes in client production environments. Identify and troubleshoot User Experience (UX) problems (e.g. responsiveness), conduct layout adjustments based on IM team and stakeholder feedback, adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images for SCE/IM. Track and review completed work by doing functional and code validation, impact analysis, and integration verification prior to review with project manager.
Provide oversight and direction to internal and external technical resources in design and development of solutions to meet client business needs. Provide technical guidance to team if needed. Understand the direction and vision for Information Management and know the technology available to enable appropriate application of the tools needed to provide effective business solutions.
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related major/ discipline.
Eight (8) or more years IT experience, defining system requirements, project scope, and performing cost benefit analysis.
Experience with SharePoint 2013/O365.
Experience with HTML.
Experience with XML.
Experience with UI/UX Design or similar role
Experience with Wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
Three (3) or more years of experience in customer service business process and technology integration, preferably in the utility industry.
Five (5) or more years of experience in an end user interface role.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience with the following:
SharePoint Enterprise Search
SharePoint Certification (admin level)
InfoPath 2013 (form development)
ASP.NET (site automation)
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Web metrics/site usage analytics

Work LocationThe primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA; however, the successful candidate may also be asked to travel to other SCE locations.
