This position is part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) University and Campus Relations Internship Program. The Summer Internship program is a 10-12 week paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience with substantial work, while developing your skills, and building your network. The internship has an estimated start date of May/June 2019 and an estimated end date of August/September 2019.
SCE offers these programs with the belief that learning and development are important parts of building future leaders. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in intern mixers, executive speaker series, site tours, community volunteer events, intern project expo, and cross-company networking.

About Customer Services Organizational Unit:
SCE’s Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. We support this effort by working to meet customer expectations. The Customer Service Operations Division (CSOD) is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings. In CSOD, we are dedicated to safely providing services and support for over 5 million customers, including 24/7 emergency response and billing over $12 million each year. Our energetic and devoted team is committed to engaging our customers with excellence, passion, and pride.
The Resource Planning and Performance (RP&P) team within CSOD conducts resources forecasting and capacity planning, coordinates new hire on-boarding, facilitates monthly operations review for CSOD senior leadership team (SLT), and advocates for CSOD in regulatory and legislative matters. The intern will support this team in these areas.
Typical intern responsibilities will include:
Gathering data, documenting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from analysis
Researching and analyzing anomalies in the data
Creating and editing complex reports, graphs, and presentations
Aligning processes, resources-planning, and Organizational Unit (OU) performances with overall strategy
Develops, reviews drafts of, and assigning or making presentations to report out on data trends/analysis and recommendations to management
Attend OU SLT/management meetings, participate in monthly team meetings, and present on topics periodically
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Economics, Law, Finance, Public Policy or a related field at an accredited institution with a graduation date of December 2019 or later.
Cumulative 2.8 GPA or higher preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (V-look ups, pivot tables, charts/graphing, etc...) and PowerPoint.
Experience using data analytics tools such as SAS, Python, and/or R preferred.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments concurrently.
Ability to adjust to changing workloads and follow up as necessary on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to accurately analyze information, processes, systems, and technologies.
Attention to detail and the ability to build interpersonal relationships with clients, peers and management.
Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
