Primary Accountabilities

  • Participates in planning, directing, and implementing all facility operations activities in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. This requires observing, encouraging, and enforcing safety rules.

  • Participates in the financial and budget planning process and helps to ensure attainment of objectives and goals. Makes recommendations to leadership for prioritization of capital and operations and maintenance projects to ensure financial and operating results.

  • Works with internal and external customers as directed. Assists the marketing department with pricing and service development.

  • Promotes excellent employee and community relations.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies and operating permits. Assists with promoting adherence to environmental, safety, and other applicable laws.

  • Performs all management duties, including budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, coaching, counseling, and modeling Travero's Values at all times.

Travero is developing the region’s largest rail-served logistics park in Logistics Park Cedar Rapids in southwest Cedar Rapids, IA. LPCR will offer services that allow shippers to capture the benefits of rails’ economies of scale over long distances with the convenience of “last-mile” truck delivery.

    Logistics Park Cedar Rapids has a great opportunity for a Supervisor Logistics Park to join our team in FairFax, IA.

    The Supervisor Logistics Park will provide leadership and oversight for operational financial performance for facility activities and customer relations. In this position you will participate in the financial and budget planning process and help to ensure attainment of objectives and goals. Make recommendations to leadership for prioritization of capital, operations and maintenance projects to ensure financial and operating results. While also participating in planning, directing, and implementing all facility operations activities in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. This requires observing, encouraging, and enforcing safety rules. The Supervisor Logistics Park works with internal and external customers as directed, assisting the Marketing department with pricing and service development, ensures compliance with regulatory bodies and operating permits and performs all management duties.

  • Supervises the work of professional, non-exempt, engaged in logistics services activities. May supervise the work of external contractors and temporary employees.

    Preferred Educational Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business, engineering, supply chain or related disciplines.

    Required Experience

  • 5 years technical and/or professional experience, including experience with and around material handling and general warehouse facility operations.

    Preferred Experience

  • Previous forklift experience using electric and propane lifts and associated WMS equipment

  • Solid knowledge of WMS software within a warehouse operation and ability to train others on WMS.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge in warehouse operations, inventory control, transportation, material handling equipment, truck scale experience, railcars, and food grade sanitation requirements.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills preferred.

  • Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.

  • Knowledge of safety rules and applicable OSHA and DOT regulations preferred.

  • Ability to administer company work rules, contract, and procedures.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to support the business.

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
