AES Manager T&D Contract Management Overhead in Indianapolis, Indiana

Under general supervision, manages and is responsible for safe, reliable, and economic operation & design of the AES Indiana PD Overhead Transmission and Distribution systems including maintenance, construction, performance, and preventative maintenance. Responsible for planning and construction work for major changes in the T&D systems, ensuring systems conform to the Company’s approved construction standards and accepted engineering design standards. Additionally, responsible for management of underground residential and commercial construction and maintenance. Oversees the safe work practices of AES Indiana overhead contractor workforces to ensure performance and alignment to company work and safety rules to include storm restoration activities. Actively participates in company’s strategic work and resource planning. Directs, guides, and counsel’s department personnel and contract management on the maintenance & construction of the electric delivery system, including administration of all policies, procedures, and practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible to enforce and staying in sync with all applicable safety policies, practices and procedure and support / development continuous improvement of safety initiatives within the organization
Level two safety champion for AES Indiana T&D Operations
Directs the preparation of manpower plans to economically accomplish long and mid-range T&D work by incorporating the appropriate work force, overtime, contractor contribution and efficiency improvement.
Responsible for monthly financials for the department including support for monthly close processes, accruals, and change orders.
Responsible to assist and coordinate all requirements for financial budgeting and planning for department
Provides project management across the department's scope of annual work to assure compliance with project schedule, scope, cost, quality control, and policies and procedures.
Contributes to electric system design and equipment specifications based on technical knowledge, operating experience, and system performance.
Reviews and assists others in analyzing bids and interviewing bidders.
Develops estimates of cost and cash flows on construction projects assigned.
Directly responsible for achieving monthly operating goals focused on reliability, cost management, and safety.
Storm Management Leader- coordinate contract crew levels, schedules, locations, outage call assignments.
Mutual Aid- manage logistics for all incoming crews to include safety briefs, lodging, meals, billing, Supply Chain requirements.
Responsible for performance management of union and non-union employees.
Maintains discipline and compliance with all Wage and Hour requirements and carries out Company policies on payroll practices and procedures, including provisions of the Union Agreement, performance reviews, and replacements.
Confers with consultants retained by the Company for special studies of Company operations or the expansion of generating facilities.
Contributes to formulation of general policies; consults with staff regarding requirements and procedures vital to ensure observance of such policies
Ensures regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility.
Work with managers in each area of PD Field Operations to develop the annual operating and capital budgets and provide budget reports during the year.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or the equivalent of at least 7-10 years’ experience in the electric utility industry required, with a minimum seven years of recent verifiable work experience in a leadership or supervisory role advising personnel with proven ability to lead and work in a team environment
Experience that includes increasing responsibilities in electric distribution overhead & underground, substations, and transmission with an emphasis on and knowledge of maintenance & construction and engineering & design at or comparable to operations at AES Indiana.
