We are seeking applicants for an Engineer II or III in the Transmission Line department depending on experience. This person will be part of a team to provide Transmission & Distribution facilities with engineering services required by Wabash Valley Power and the Member Systems. The hiring manager will determine the Engineer level based upon applicants experience.

What You'll DoUnder varying levels of supervision, you will assist in the oversight of Transmission Line maintenance including visual inspections, vegetation management, pole testing, switch maintenance, and other maintenance activities deemed necessary. Under varying levels of supervision you will also:• Routes, designs and/or supervises the design of transmission line facilities including the preparation of specifications, environmental permits/reports, bidding and material procurement, R-O-W procurement, and construction management. Transmission line voltages will include, but not be limited to: 34.5KV, 46KV, 69KV, 138KV, 230KV, and 345KV.• Maintains Transmission Line Asset records for both WVPA-owned and member-owned lines including, but not limited to: Plan and Profile, length of circuits, type of construction, date placed in service, ownership, line easement, and line maintenance documentation.• Oversees the Procurement of Transmission line easements for Wabash Valley's Transmission & Distribution construction projects, and assists the general counsel in the completion and recording of the documentation required for said easements.• Provides engineering services for the Member Systems on various distribution line matters which may include 12KV design, sag/tension calculations, easement procurement, joint use pole issues, etc.• Providing support to the transmission consultants on matters involving delivery point requirements and the associated transmission and/or substation facilities as directed by the Manager of Transmission and Substation Engineering.• Providing engineering review and assistance for Wabash Valley's Transmission & Distribution agreements with current power suppliers, as well as any future agreements in this regard.

You take a diagnostic approach to understanding the needs of the situation and are results-oriented, self-motivated, and have a high level of initiative.• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited institution required. • 3+ years of progressive experience in Transmission Line design required • Proficient with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE (utilizing Method 4 structure analysis) required. • Prior electric utility experience preferred.• PE license preferred.• Successful completion of FE exam preferred.
