Position Summary:

As Field QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Engineer in the field of power plant construction you will play a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects adhere to established quality standards and meet regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties:

  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures and systems for power plant construction projects. Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to identify quality requirements. Collaborate with project stakeholders to establish quality standards and define inspection and testing criteria. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards. Monitor construction activities to identify and rectify non-conformities and quality issues. Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies to conduct independent quality assessments. Review and approve quality-related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and material certifications. Develop and maintain a comprehensive quality control documentation system.

  • Quality Control: Perform inspections and tests at various stages of power plant construction, including foundation, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works. Ensure that construction materials and equipment meet the required specifications and standards. Conduct inspections to verify compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety requirements. Monitor the installation and calibration of equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning. Conduct performance and functional tests to verify the operational efficiency of power plant components. Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports on quality control findings and recommendations. Collaborate with construction teams to implement corrective and preventive actions based on quality control findings.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities. Prepare detailed reports on quality control inspections, test results, and non-conformities. Document and communicate quality-related issues to project stakeholders and management. Participate in project progress meetings to provide updates on quality control status. Prepare final quality control reports upon project completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience as a QA/QC Engineer in power plant construction or similar heavy industrial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, standards, and regulations related to power plants.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems and quality control techniques.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Experience in conducting inspections, tests, and audits in accordance with industry standards.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) or relevant QA/QC certifications are desirable.
