  • Responsible for ordering chemicals through established vendors.

  • Performs general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility including painting projects as required. Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and control room.

  • Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by Plant Management.

  • Coordinates purchasing with appropriate personnel and vendors in an effort to achieve timely repair of plant equipment.

  • Identify and resolve CEMS problems. Assist in calibrations and gas bottle change outs.

  • Ensure water chemistry is within proper control ranges. Make adjustments to water chemistry, as needed, by controlling chemical feed and/or blowdown rates. Work with plant chemist, OMT’s and water treatment vendor to properly monitor overall chemistry program.

  • Operate demineralized water system in accordance with OEM and plant procedures and monitor demineralized water to ensure quality is within acceptable limits.

  • Reads, understands and complies with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Follow all plant environmental permits.

Health, Safety & Environmental

  • Supports the development and implementation of Job Safety Analyses (JSA).

  • Responsible for all aspects of safety compliance of all individuals and contractors working on projects managed by him

  • Ensures compliance with all Environmental Compliance regulations

  • Compliance with all Behavioral Safety Targets for his position

  • Completes all AES Safety Audit items assigned to him by the PM

  • Complete and document 1 Work Activity Observation per month.

  • All changes to procedures or equipment comply with the Management of Change procedures for the plant. Coordinates and ensures all procedures are followed before any changes take place by his team


  • Combined Cycle Plant chemistry experience (3-5 years or more).

  • Plant chemistry experience in the Power Industry (5 years or more) - preferred.

  • Associate Degree in a technical field desirable.

  • Must pass GPI, GE, Siemens and Kiewit training classes with an acceptable score.

  • Basic computer skills required.
