Southwire Job Description
This position will provide functional leadership in driving financial results, performance analysis and timely closing and reporting per the corporate closing schedule. The position will support the Huntersville plant, leading implementation in best practices and constant improvement in financial reporting to business leaders. Controller will ensure that all financial and accounting policies are consistently and accurately implemented and reported with strict adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role will be a key partner to the Huntersville Plant Manager and Director, Operations Finance—Utility to drive efficiency, profitability and output growth.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with division leadership to ensure achievement of overall division objectives, including analyzing data to initiate improvements impacting financial performance.
Partner with Plant Manager and key stakeholders to develop 5 year strategic plan for the Huntersville facility.
Lead and present financial reporting reviews for the Huntersville facility.
Responsible for the month-end closing and associated balance sheet management, including accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, participation in monthly physical inventory counts, and oversight of working capital for the Huntersville facility.
Responsible for the monthly forecasting and annual budget processes for the Huntersville facility.
Lead efforts in improving plant KPI and reporting/dashboards for Huntersville Leadership Team to drive insight and performance management.
Responsible for the accuracy of the cost accounting, inventory, and asset management systems.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Assist other functions on data analysis for special and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related similar field required.
Certified Public Accountant or MBA a plus.
5+ years of experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.
Experience with SAP or similar large ERP system.
Must possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communications, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Able to multitask and work well in a team environment as well as independently.
