Enbridge Senior Specialist, Commercial Outage Management in Houston, Texas

This role will contribute to the above purpose by overseeing & facilitating cross function teams on the effective and efficient execution of the Commercial Outage work portfolios. This includes monitoring portfolio plans and schedule information, communicates and documents status, costs, risks, and evolving processes and tools to ensure the success of all teams involved. Here’s what you will do:

  • Facilitate cross team discussion of work plans and execution to safely and effectively balance the priorities of commercial availability, customer satisfaction, reliable operations and field work execution.

  • Champion and coordinate the communication, tracking, and reporting of work and facilitate the resolution of issues in a timely manner

  • Continually work to improve processes, tools and technologies used by team and stakeholders.

  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings and work.

  • Assess risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable and escalate as necessary.

  • Identify and champion improvement opportunities for GTM and the team.

  • Provide leadership and advocacy to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, profitable, and responsible Asset Operations remains the core function of team and serve as an active member of the Operations Portfolio Management Team promoting that groups effectiveness and development with a commitment to always provide best advice.

  • Provide visible leadership for safety and risk management to ensure risks to safe, reliable, efficient, profitable, and responsible operations are understood and managed correctly so as to support an incident free culture.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, field operations and the regional outage coordinators on complex technical issues and to ensure they have a plan to successfully execute their assigned work portfolio.

Who you are:

  • You have:

  • Related college degree and 7+ years’ experience OR 9+ years of previous field operations experience OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Self-motivated, delivery oriented, team player that can work independently and can lead small cross functional teams and has deep subject matter expertise

  • Sound business acumen in the areas of project management, risk management, integrity, operations, and maintenance.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent shifts in priorities and schedules

  • Ability to communicate to a wide audience, including employees and all levels of management

  • Ability to organize complex information and write concise documents and correspondence to various audiences.

  • Proven advanced communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver reports to operations leadership

  • Strong process and technology background to be able to identify and execute improvements

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution.

  • The following are considered assets:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience working in project management, information systems, operations or integrity in an oil and gas company

  • Process improvement experience is considered an asset

  • Knowledge of TIS system development methodologies and practices is considered an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment with visits to field locations in region as needed. Approximately 10-30% travel.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
