Senior Electric Engineer - CEH02931
Center Point Energy is looking for a Senior Electric Engineer to join our Transmission Special Studies Team , located in Houston, TX .
You will have the ability to: perform advanced transmission system analyses that may include the following types of studies: steady-state power flow, short circuit, voltage stability, dynamic stability, and transfer capability.

To be successful in this role you will:
Perform power flow studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
Perform short circuit studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
Perform stability studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
Update power flow models to reflect changes in topology, resources and load.
Represent CenterPoint Energy on applicable ERCOT and NERC working groups, user groups and cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance to applicable NERC standards, produce compliance reports and participate in audit activities.
Work cooperatively and jointly with other departments within the company.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Your background includes:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Requires a minimum of 5 years of electric utility or power engineering experience related to transmission planning which may include transmission line design or substation design
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Texas
A bonus to have:
Dynamic Simulation experience
PSSE Software Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
