As the Senior CI Consultant , you will identify, plan, participate in, and facilitate Lean Continuous Improvement projects and activities that help the organization achieve and sustain continuous improvement and lean initiatives. The Senior CI consultant is responsible to learn business processes in a wide range of organizational areas and to use structured process improvement and problem-solving methods that will add sustainable value, and well as aid the business in implementing various lean practices such as visual management. The Senior CI Consultant can lead any business unit functional area. The Senior CI Consultant works cooperatively with cross functional teams and departments to seek improvements and solve specific problems along with aiding in defining and delivering the value proposition. The Senior CI Consultant is capable of pro-actively building on prior projects to identify and extend improvements in related areas.…

Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Understand the corporate strategic plan to assist in evaluation and determination of improvement opportunities.

  • Facilitate planning process and management meetings for business unit.

  • Work with the business to develop high level and detailed performance measures and targets.

  • Assist in developing measures, and other controls for processes and projects.

  • Teach others to develop reliable measurement methods and communications tools to report results.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data produced and results reported; accept accountability and work cohesively in a team environment that stresses attention to detail.

  • Support the implementation of visual management and processes for regular review.

  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to create standardized processes and implement continuous improvement in support of business unit plans.

  • Facilitate efforts to re-design processes and procedures demonstrating advanced analytical skills and creative solution planning.

  • Effectively use and teach the full range of tools for Lean continuous improvement and project management.

  • Present team outcomes to peers and management for review, comment, and approval, overcoming barriers and addressing concerns.

  • Perform financial and cost-benefit analyses using a wide variety of analytical tools and methods.

  • Develop business cases and project plans using company standards.

  • Demonstrate excellent business acumen in communications, behavior, dependability, and teamwork.

  • Manage schedules and provide updates assuming multiple concurrent assignments.

  • Conduct research and benchmark.

  • Regularly develop and add to own skills.

  • Teach colleagues to competently apply Lean continuous improvement methods and principles as a trusted business resource.

  • Lead and contribute to continuously improving tools and methods utilized by Continuous Improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, engineering, operations research, business, finance, technology or organizational management preferred. Others accepted.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Minimum 4 years in lean methodologies, process improvement, project management, financial analytics, agile and/or relevant experience in utility industry

Physical Requirements:

  • Able hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.

  • Able tooperate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods

  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Position may require 25% travel

Working Conditions:

  • Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.

  • Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle or private office.

  • Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight.
