As a Senior Analyst, Tax you will drive the business by maintaining tax processes that maximize efficiency. You will also be responsible for calculating and tracking property related book/tax basis differences, as well as, assisting with regulatory reporting.
To be successful in this role you will:
Prepare and review fixed asset book to tax rollforwards and maintains fixed asset related book to tax differences.
Utilize PowerTax system to calculate depreciation deduction and to aid in the preparation of fixed asset rollforwards.
Utilize SAP and/or PowerPlan to analyze book fixed asset information.
Prepare the studies related to the repair and mixed service deductions utilizing Alteryx.
Assist with the preparation/review of various regulatory reporting and rate case filings for regulated utility business units.
Conduct tax research and analysis of Internal Revenue Code or other statutory and case law using tax research software.
Prepare and/or review various components of the quarterly ASC 740 accruals including the calculation of fixed asset related book to tax differences.
Your background includes:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
At least 5 years of income tax consulting experience or equivalent income tax compliance experience in business or industry with a strong foundation in fixed asset accounting and US federal and state corporate income/franchise taxation.
Experience with Microsoft Office software required with advanced excel skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of the federal and state tax laws and regulations, accounting and related application of such, and exercise a high level of independent judgment within established systems and procedures
A bonus to have:
Knowledge of FERC accounting
Proficiency in SAP and Powerplan/PowerTax
Experience with Alteryx
