Position Specific Description

Power Generation Division Internship positions: Under direct supervision, this job applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Develops knowledge and skills within a specific practice area. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. Collaboratively applies judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Works on small projects or portions of larger projects. Supports development of standards and engineering guidelines, conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations. Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered.

Some of the responsibilities for our engineering internships are listed below:

· Assist in the development, design, material estimating/procurement, construction, and operation of various pipeline segments and associated equipment such as separators, dehydration, product treatment and processing Plants, and compressor stations.

· Support the development of an equipment condition assessment tracking and risk management procedure.

· Apply knowledge to real world operating failure modes experienced in the fleet

· Piping and Instrumentation Drawing reviews and updates

· Support the validation of daily operating procedures

· Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the pipeline and its associated facilities (including such items as: preventative maintenance routines, startup, and shutdown activities)

· Acquire knowledge of pipeline system operations through team interaction and self-directed research

· Work activities may include such items as preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings in the current CAD platform.

· Intern will work with the equipment on how to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems.

· Conduct field walk-downs and mark-up as build documentation

* Electrical or Mechanical Engineering majors preferred.

  • Completes challenging projects and assignments

  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
