Position Specific Description

Gexa Energy is searching for an experienced energy supply and pricing professional who has a passion for making a difference in the Energy industry. The Manager of Supply & Pricing will primarily be responsible for developing product constructs and pricing strategies that optimize our supply position. In this role you will be responsible for establishing and implementing pricing and supply position strategies by leveraging knowledge of market, competitive analysis, and key financial metrics to attain sales objectives and drive revenue growth. Additionally, there will be the need for pricing curve development, maintenance, risk mitigation, and tool/process development in order to maximize efficiencies. Development of business cases for new products, functionality and pricing tactics. Identifying and developing requirements to address gaps in product, pricing and margin management functionality. Daily reviews of pricing and margin positions. Analyzing competitive positioning strategies and developing recommendations to optimize customer count and margin contributions. Researching new markets to facilitate new market entry requirements. Tracking sales and margin performance and produce weekly and monthly reporting and analysis.

To be successful in this role, strong analytical and modeling skills are required. Candidates will need the ability to develop detailed presentations to present to internal and external customers, including executive level management, and to interact with multiple business units. Extensive experience in retail and wholesale energy markets is imperative. Candidate should possess a strong understanding of retail power and natural gas pricing methodology for Residential customers in ERCOT, NEPOOL and PJM markets. Experience with Small Business customer pricing is a plus.

Preferred qualifications are as follows

  • Candidates with Retail Power Industry experience highly preferred

  • Experience performing analyses on large data sets

  • Advanced SQL coding skills with significant SQL knowledge

  • Experience in software packages like R, Python, SAS

  • Excellent MS Excel skills and experience with VBA

  • Familiarity with regression analysis

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills

  • Ability to quickly learn and ramp up in new subject matters

  • Candidate must be able to work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment focused on results
