As the Lead Consultant, Asset Management , you will assess, develop, and implement a systematic approach of coordinating activities and practices to optimally and sustainably manage Houston Electric Operation’s assets and asset systems, their associated performance, and risk and expenditures over the life cycle of those assets. Successfully manage, with minimal supervision, a wide range of asset strategy, policy, and program issues in various arenas including program and project development activities, cost/benefit analyses, strategic planning, and program management in conjunction with the operational areas of Houston Electric Operations. Make recommendations regarding all aspects of asset management based on Houston Electric Operations business needs, profitability, and business risk challenges in an organized and orderly fashion.
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Develops strategy and program and project management activities for an assigned asset-related area. Activities include coordination with appropriate operating areas of Houston Electric Operations in regard to the assigned asset-related area and use of in-depth technical knowledge of Houston Electric Operations and its business practices to assess the technical and economic impact of various project proposals or contemplated strategies.
Assists with the comprehensive development and implementation of Houston Electric Operations’ overall asset management policies, programs, and investment strategies.
Facilitates teams consisting of technical and operations representatives to identify the appropriate asset strategies for each of the selected asset classes. Results are presented to management and executive leadership as part of CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric’s (CEHE) overall asset management plan.
Uses extensive technical and operations knowledge and data from numerous disparate operations/performance, financial, and asset sources to develop analytics that support life cycle replacement strategies, risk models, and prioritization of operational programs. Works with IT management and system architects to ensure effective development occurs for value add to stakeholder organizations.
Participates in industry engagement and research activities. Works with technical consulting firms to identify and develop industry leading Houston Electric Operations asset life cycle and investment strategies.
Collaborates with various operating areas to establish appropriate organization change management related to asset management.
Supports the preparation of expert testimony, discovery requests, written comments, asset related industry surveys, related filings in rate case proceedings, and other regulatory proceedings, as needed.
Ensures that CEHE capital budget investment prioritization methodology is properly supported through risk mitigation efforts related to analytics outcomes.
Collaborates with various operating areas and Legal to monitor, track, assess and selectively seek to influence recovery of costs associated with asset investments strategies
Bachelor’s degree required
Requires a minimum of eight (8) years experience in one or more of the following:
