Quanta Services JDE Work Force Management , Business Analyst in Houston, Texas
JD Edwards WFM Business Analyst is responsible for understanding business processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and translating approved solutions into technical specifications and/or procedural modifications that can be implemented against the various applications that support those business processes. Business Analysts are the liaison between the business unit and IT development and support functions. They proactively communicate and collaborate with their customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements. They also collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. They have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
Detailed functional knowledge of JD Edwards WFM business process model.
Ability to derive requirements for process change/addition to applications using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, and task and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish nice to have from the underlying true needs.
Participate in development and maintenance of thorough, current functional and systems documentation, business process flow diagrams, and end user training materials.
Participate in the development and execution of well-designed test plans, testing activities, and test data.
Participate in data conversion and merger/acquisition activities.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
IT Business Analyst - Responsibilities
This position is targeted for individuals with general process knowledge of a functional area and considered a SME in multiple sub-processes.
Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities to in accomplish objectives.
Designs solutions for a variety of complex problems.
Liaises typically with many business users in different locations and countries.
Often fills a Leadership Role in the Planning and Execution of organizational projects and goals.
May direct the efforts and review the accuracy of tasks performed by lesser experienced analysts.
Education / Travel
Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in business, MIS, or equivalent field. Additional years’ experience can be used to substitute for degree.
5-8+ year’s business experience.
Travel Percentage: 30-40%
JD Edwards Enterprise One 9.0 or later
1+ Years working with JD Edwards WFM as well with any of the related modules like General Ledger, Job Cost, Service Billing, etc.
Experience working with US Payroll, Canadian Payroll (nice to have), year end WF M processes like W-2, etc.
Experience working with 3rdparty applications for reporting (Hubble, etc.)
Experience implementing/rolling out JD Edwards or any other enterprise software
Experience in preparing testing scripts and training documents
Experience in preparing process flows
Participated in data mapping / data conversion activities during implementation / rollout
Participated in Conference Room Pilots / User Acceptance Testing
Delivered super user and/or end user Training
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
