About this Role

The IT Applications Developer Lead is responsible for overseeing staff, analyzing technical requirements managing projects, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of high-quality and properly documented applications. This individual will possess an in-depth understanding of the infrastructure that supports the applications, including expertise in low/no-code development tools and platforms. Facilitating seamless collaboration with other technical teams and vendor companies, the successful candidate will have a strong background in business, technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in development. As a leader, the IT Applications Developer Lead will not only drive the team's performance but also contribute to strategic planning and remain up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in the low/no-code space. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative organization.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the development group, including conducting performance reviews and developing performance plans for other developers.

  • Manage relationships with vendor companies, overseeing external development teams and ensuring their alignment with project goals and time-lines.

  • Lead application solution design efforts, taking business & operations requirements and turning them into concrete blues-prints for system design.

  • Act as a key leader within the development group, taking initiative to resolve production issues and ensure development projects remain on schedule.

  • Develop and execute project plans, leading teams to deliver projects according to the established time-line.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the infrastructure supporting the applications developed or maintained by the development group, including expertise in low/no-code tools and platforms.

  • Collaborate effectively with other technical teams within the IT department, as well as with vendor companies, to meet overall project requirements.

  • Contribute to the annual planning and budget process, particularly in regard to development tool-set requirements and identifying opportunities to improve the group's productivity.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the development group remains competitive and innovative, particularly in the low/no-code space.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, technical, or equivalent field. Master's or other advanced degree is preferred but not required. Additional years of experience can be used to substitute for a degree.

  • 8-10+ years of experience in leading application development efforts.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong experience and background in the solution design/architecture portion of custom application development

  • Strong ability to visualize design through Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and other architectural or scenario driven diagrams and flows.

  • Strong understanding of application development and infrastructure concepts, with a focus on low/no-code development tools and platforms.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various technical teams, stakeholders, and vendor companies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements, particularly in the low/no-code space.
