Summer Internship Program

Our 10-week program is designed to increase future employment potential for prospects while providing a valuable resource to the business. This Summer Internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated college juniors/seniors with a genuine desire to learn about the energy business and industry. During the internship, candidates will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. Ideal Candidate

This Intern role within the organization is a Core and Cross Serve Product Development Intern based in Houston, TX. NRG is looking for self-driven, high-caliber individuals who can grasp complex commercial issues and harness information to deliver solutions. Core and Cross Serve Product Development Intern Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the market landscape; uncover and size areas of opportunity and drive products from idea to concept.

  • Manage multiple requests for concept analysis and prioritize the activities based on established guiding principles.

  • Develop and refine business cases that demonstrate the opportunity(ies) and impacts of a new concept.

  • Provide in depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic product decisions.

  • Identify and communicate risk and impacts of proposed solutions along with risk mitigation options considering business implications of the application of the product concept.

  • Conduct research and generate insights, use-cases, and industry analyses to address potential future opportunities.

  • Provide support on requested tasks, organize tasks, communicate, and proactively report performance and develop next steps. Shepherd product concepts through a well-defined evaluation process through clear presentation decks, timely meetings and clear communication with cross-functional teams.

  • Willingness to contribute to the greater team through collaboration, workload assistance when needed and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree discipline: Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or Economics

  • Must have completed second year of college with a 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
