Position Specific Description

Responsible for all Public Utility Commission activities in Texas, as well as assisting with ERCOT affairs. The position involves oversight responsibility and management of the PUCT policy, positions, and priorities in Texas to support NextEra's existing businesses and new development and growth. The job requires commercial capabilities and knowledge of all NEER’s businesses to flag risks and credibly work with policymakers to advance NextEra's interests. The position involves extensive teamwork, internally and externally. Candidate should have electricity policy knowledge, strong teamwork ability, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate a multi-background professional team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as a disciplined approach to managing competing company interests. Candidates should be willing to travel occasionally to support priorities and be located in Texas, preferably in Austin.

Job Overview

Employees in this role directly support management and development through representation of our company’s interests in regulatory bodies, regional transmission and planning organizations and legislatures and members of the executive branch of state governments in the United States and provinces in Canada.

  • Lobbies legislatures

  • Formulates company strategies internally for communication in the marketplace

  • Completes long-range strategic planning

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience: 10+ years
