Job Summary:
Customer Service Representative will handle and resolve customer billing inquiries, concerns, and opportunities related to promoting value added products and services for CenterPoint Energy’s gas and electric customers. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume call environment, this role involves direct interaction with customers via phone, email, and chat. Additionally, the representative performs administrative tasks and data entry to ensure accurate record-keeping and deliver efficient, high-quality service.
Essential Functions:
Responds to all questions relating to customer service inquiries via verbal and/or written communication with a focus on one call resolution.
Responsible for generating and scheduling various gas and electric service orders for field operations.
Resolves billing inquiries, performs account adjustments, negotiates payment arrangements and deposit amounts, processes electronic billing inquiries, and ensures timely follow-up on customer accounts.
Collaborate with Competitive Retail providers (CRs) to address issues such as readings, billing dates, and order receipts, ensuring smooth coordination of services.
Ensures that the proper gas and electric permitting requirements are met by collaborating with the internal permitting department and other relevant entities as needed.
Identifies customer interactions as opportunities to promote noncommission based value-added products and services to enhance the customer experience and drive business growth.
Works closely with various departments, including Transmission and Distribution, Field Services, Revenue Accounting, and others, to resolve customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Requires a minimum of 1 year customer interaction experience, preferably one year in a high-volume call center environment, with a proven history of professionally and effectively resolving customer concerns.
