As an Advisor, US GTM Accounting Operations, you would be responsible for preparing and reviewing the general financial matters impacting our GTM US assets, primarily focused on RNG assets. The GTM General Accounting group is the primary point of contact optimizing the financial performance of our GTM US consolidated entities’ activities and supporting both internal and external team members. They are responsible for keeping accurate accounting records, facilitating proper cash management procedures, maintaining positive business relationships with various departments outside Finance, and demonstrating knowledge and experience to assist other departments as requests or issues arise. What you will do:

  • Facilitate accounts payables processing, accounting and compliance for RNG assets:

  • Align with established procedures, internal controls and legislation

  • Prepare and review month end close processes and reports

  • Prepare and review multiple reconciliations with various deadlines

  • Prevent fraudulent vendor master data and transactions.

  • Review daily payables processes such as positive pay exceptions, holds, rejects and returns; coordinate manual payments as required.

  • Coordination with third party service provider related to processing of invoices and vendor master data.

  • Investigate and respond to general and specialized information requests from key partners in Finance.

  • Uphold quality standards to ensure payment processing and master data updates are complete, accurate, and consistent while also assuring service level agreements are met.

  • Support Internal Audit and Compliance requests for information.

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries

  • Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations

  • Prepare, review and coordinate intercompany receivables & payables rollups and settlements

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements support schedules to be provided to internal management.

  • Perform research and analysis for ad hoc questions or requests from various stakeholders

  • Interact with other groups inside the company (including FP&A, Regulatory, Treasury, and Reporting)

  • Coordinate and interact with internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audits

  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements

  • Special projects as required

  • Interacts with various stakeholders throughout the organization in order to develop and maintain processes to ensure optimization of GTM asset performance and compliance with GAAP and FERC accounting and reporting. Expected to generate actionable recommendations to senior leaders, auditors and financial managers to resolve issues as they are identified.

  • Liaison for accounts payable services, requiring strong relationship building, communication skills and critical thinking to evaluate the issues and needs. Synthesis of information from multiple team members and ability to efficiently and effectively manage accounts payable process.

  • You have:

  • A related university degree in Accounting/Finance and a minimum of 4 years of experience.

  • Understanding of related systems, processes, and company structure is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, Excel, ServiceNow and other systems related to AP is an asset.

  • Previous experience in an outsourced AP department is an asset.

  • Appreciation for cultural and geographical context in daily operations. Able to work cooperatively and collaborate with people of different backgrounds and perspectives.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings and documentation of required tasks, dictated by Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.

  • 100% Drug Free and alcohol free when on duty as Maintenance On-Call or emergency response.

  • Overnight travel of 10-25 days per year may be required.

  • Required to participate in Maintenance On-Call schedule and provide 24-hour emergency response as needed.

  • Available for emergency call 24 hours a day as needed.

  • Work often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapors from crude oil and solvents may be present.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

  • Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
