Job Summary:
The Vice President of Business Technology and Innovation is a pivotal role within the Cooperative’s Senior Leadership team, ensuring that technology and support functions align with the strategic direction of the Cooperative and its broadband subsidiary. This position provides comprehensive leadership across all aspects of technology including, but not limited to, application development, infrastructure management, user experience, and cybersecurity. Beyond technical oversite, the role involves effective people management, organizational structuring, and financial stewardship, including budgeting and resource allocation to support financial objectives.As a member of senior leadership, the Vice President of Business Technology and Innovation will be expected to proactively engage with stakeholders and GreyStone leadership while providing consistent, timely and transparent communication on technology strategy development and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participates with the Senior Leadership Team to develop, refine, and implement the strategic plan, while promoting strong, Cooperative-wide collaboration and requiring the same of all management within the division. Developing and executing upon a technology strategy that aligns with the business goals of the GreyStone Power Corporation.
- Oversee all aspects of information technology operations and report key performance indicators to Greystone leadership
- Assess emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through innovation.
- Guide the identification, development, and implementation of best practices to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement for the Cooperative and its broadband subsidiary.
- Oversee the governance and execution of the data analytics program, supporting strategic, data-driven decision-making and managing the ongoing development and deployment of the company’s data mining tool.
- Stay current with industry standards and regulatory requirements, implementing data protection measures to maintain compliance.
- Direct the design, execution, and testing of cyber security programs that safeguard GreyStone Power Corporation, its employees, partners and customers.
- Ensure a resilient technology infrastructure, guiding the development and testing of plans to sustain business continuity in the event of disruptions.
- Stay current on general trends in technology and specific technology trends within the utility industry through research, education and professional networking.
- Educate GreyStone leadership on emerging technologies, fostering awareness of their potential applications within the organization.
- Oversee the development of policies that ensure the responsible and efficient use of technology across the Cooperative.
- Attract, develop, lead and retain a high-performing, customer-focused team while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Define key roles within the technology department and structure the organization to effectively support GreyStone Power Corporation’s technological needs.
- Communicating the organization’s technology strategy across all levels of Greystone Power Corporation.
- Represent the company in civic and professional associations, acting as an ambassador to culture strong community relationships and partnerships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local officials, fostering open communication and supporting positions held by the Cooperative.
- Uphold confidentiality and act with integrity in all aspects of leadership.
- Perform additional duties and projects assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A bachelor's degree in technology-related field, such as computer science, engineering, or information systems management.
- Master’s in business administration (MBA) or related field preferred
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure, GCP, CISM and/or CISSP with a desire to continue to grow and learn within the discipline.
- Experience in a similar technology leadership role
- Experience working with technology within the utility industry
- Proven expertise in IT infrastructure, security, asset management, help desk support, application development and research.
- Working knowledge of a broad range of technologies, including computer hardware, telecommunications, network security, software packages and programming languages.
- Demonstrated success in managing IT infrastructure, IT budgets, software development and systems architecture.
- Current understanding of technological trends and best practices
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficient in risk mitigation and data security of digital assets.
- Experience driving digital transformation initiatives, leveraging cloud technologies, and implementing data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with ITSM, Agile, DevOps and similar methodologies
- Proven track record of successfully leading technology projects, delivering results on time and within budget.
- Satisfactorily pass GreyStone's pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, criminal and credit background check.

Technology and Communication Skills
- Proficient command of Office Productivity Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills to prepare business correspondence, reports, and presentations with speed and accuracy.
- Skill in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence such as letters, emails, meeting minutes, and other documents as required.
- Ability to make oral group presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion, action and/or provide information or explain procedures, policies, etc.
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and experience in facilitation /resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute.
Supervisory Responsibility
Department leadership (managers or directors) of Information Systems, Process Improvement and Data Analytics.

This is a diversified job in a general office environment requiring sitting and using a computer as well as requiring sustained mental effort related to public contacts, organizational issues, planning and technical areas, public speaking, and non-standard business hours. Some business travel and occasional driving is required.
