We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Technical Manager for our Enterprise Asset Management team . This position can be located in Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, Syracuse, NY, or Waltham, MA (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). What you'll do
As a Technical Manager for our IT Enterprise Asset Management organization, you'll manage application support and delivery. This portfolio includes support across various business units including but not limited to: Generation, Liquid Natural Gas, Meter to Cash, Emergency Work, Inspection and Maintenance, and Construction for Electric and Gas operations. You'll be responsible for leading the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications for the area. The primary application utilized is IBM’s Work & Asset Management solution for utilities; Maximo. Key responsibilities include the following:
Direct the overall deployment and activities of their staff and facilitate the resolution of situations brought to their attention.
Ensure coordination and alignment with support teams from other areas and dependent business units and functions.
Work directly with business partners, key stakeholders, and peers to identify requirements and opportunities to create new or modify applications that enable business partners to accomplish key strategies and objectives.
Prioritize competing priorities in alignment with organization goals and ROI.
Manage all deliverables and obligations related to application operation; application maintenance and support; and application release management.
Develop and drive application monitoring for performance optimization and proactive awareness.
Evaluate root cause technical solutions; striving for elimination of technical debt.
Develop and utilize performance metrics to show improvement for service delivery and SLA adherence.
Guide business stakeholders to solutions that maximize National Grid investment in technology.
Develop strategic plans and road maps to standardize and simplify the production release process, improve application resiliency, and increase throughput and service delivery quality.
Define and build a high performing support team and effective support model.
Ensuring adherence to SOX mandated controls.
Lead and influence architectural decisions.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
7+ years related application support experience, of which 5 years include supervisory/leadership responsibilities.
5+ years related experience managing outsourced IT managed services providers.
5+ years of experience supporting COTS and other application software solutions.
Experience working with or supporting applications that integrate to partner systems.
Strong hands-on technical knowledge in application development, configuration, and maintenance support of applications in a mid to large-scale enterprise.
Knowledge and experience with Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall software development methodologies.
Gas and electric Utility experience would be a plus.
Experience with IBM Maximo or other Work and Asset Applications would be a plus.

Dowstate NY $158,000 - $186,000 a year
Massachusetts $148,000 - $174,000 a year
Upstate NY $132,000 - $155,000 a year
Salary is commensurate with experience and location
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
