Job Purpose

To make sure National Grid's State and Federal mandated corrosion control programs are completed within regulated timeframes and budget. Promote and follow testing and safety procedures set forth by National Grid, New York State, and the US DOT.

Key Accountabilities

  • To develop and direct the implementation of the NY enterprise (US) wide Transmission and Distribution Atmospheric Corrosion (AC) control /bridge program.

  • Coordinate permit applications to NYSDOT and NYCDOT with regards to Work Zone Traffic Control in order to support inspections and repairs.

  • Manage contractor inspection and remediation activities including optimization to OPEX/CAPEX spending.

  • Oversee and execute contractor estimate, budget, invoicing, training and Operator Qualification statuses.

  • Coordinate railroad permit applications and flagging services in order to support inspections and repairs.

  • Maintain and coordinate railroad safety training of personnel involved with railroad activities.

  • Maintain safety as highest priority by promoting our safety goals and procedures, which includes regular safety and observation audits completed in the field.

  • Serve as lead of Atmospheric Corrosion procedure development/improvement.

  • Develop and maintain strategy ensuring the safe integrity of the transmission and distribution systems consistent with company objectives, strategies and policies and in full compliance with governmental codes and regulations.

  • Work will include Development of engineering plans, specifications and designs for new cathodic protection systems.

  • The position reports to the Corrosion Manager and will require some travel as needed, field support, and occasional nights/weekends work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Engineering bachelor’s degree with 5+ years or more of experience in Gas Corrosion Policy, Gas Distribution Asset Engineering, Transmission Asset Engineering, Mandated Programs, or Gas Field Operations Experience

  • NACE/CIP Certification preferred

  • Experience with Excel required and Power-BI/Sharepoint preferred

  • Experience with program management preferred

  • This position requires coordination and senior level communication between all departments within the gas organization

Salary:$130,000 - $153,000 a year
