National Grid is hiring a Lead Quantitative Analyst for our Data Science department in Hicksville, NY.

To conduct complex quantitative analyses and develop sophisticated advanced statistical and machine learning models and optimization tools to help the company achieve its regulatory, financial, operational and growth goals.
Develop advanced machine learning and statistical methods and sophisticated analytics programs for addressing and solving a wide range of problems across the business.
Produce high level models including simulation/optimization models, and commodity, asset and market quantitative models to support senior management in designing solutions and defining strategies.
Develop advanced quantitative analyses and optimization approaches to support customer engagement, marketing campaigns, hedging plans, asset optimization and market changes on the energy portfolios.
Analyze key themes from a wide range of internal and external data sources and select relevant information to identify how key themes may impact the business.
Translate functional policy into processes and procedures that drive greater efficiencies for National Grid and ensure compliance with regulations.
Develop, maintain and enhance gas usage, load and customer growth forecasting by using appropriate modeling technologies and training the relevant teams on model usage and results interpretation.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
PhD Degree required in engineering, mathematics, applied computer science, applied management science or operations research. More than five years industrial experience is needed.
Strong hands-on experience in advanced quantitative analysis, machine learning, process modeling, and optimization
Deep understanding of the fundamental of multivariate statistical analysis, machine learning, time series analysis, optimization, and other relevant areas.
Proficient in programming languages including but not limited to Python, R, Matlab,
Experience in relational databases, stored procedures, SQL, and Non-SQL database systems.
Experience in cloud computation.
Experience in project management to meet agile project development.
Good communication skills to understand customer request and present team development results.
