Southwire Job Description

Summary:

Process Engineer will provide process support on the manufacturing floor. Will design, install, and commission various machine improvements. Will be responsible for managing several projects simultaneously. Will be responsible for producing accurate schedules and budgets for the same. Will support maintenance staff as required.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide full process support

• Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff as required

• Complete projects from proposal to design through commissioning

• Prepare and present engineering project BOMs for budgeting and procurement

• Provide proper documentation as required to support maintenance and operation of new equipment

• Capable of design of original concepts

• Capable of designing systems within estimated budgets

• Capable of generating accurate project estimates and schedules

• Work with vendors and contractors to complete assigned projects

• Coordinate with plant management groups to complete projects on schedule

• Keep abreast of current trends and technology, and utilize this information effectively

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required

• Must be proficient in 2D CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent)

• Must be highly skilled in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)

• Must have extremely strong analytical and management skills

• Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
