Eversource Energy Summer Internship, Field Engineering Test Department in Hartford, Connecticut

Coop/Intern candidates pursuing a degree in electrical engineering technology (ASET) or electrical

engineer (BSEE) are welcomed to apply. Transportation to the Assigned Area Work Center Required.

This internship is with the Field Engineering Test organization responsible for troubleshooting,

maintaining and commissioning protection and control schemes and electrical power apparatus

associated with the Bulk Electric System and Distribution System.

Successful candidates will provide services to the department to include: Calibration and repair of Test

Equipment such as power system simulators used to maintain relay systems required for regulatory

compliance; as well as, reviewing Test Equipment inventory and managing repairs with original

equipment manufacturers. Work with supervision to ensure job aids, engineering

documentation, material, and test equipment is available for task execution. Additionally, shadow

Field Engineers and Supervision in the field conducting relay maintenance, troubleshooting, and

construction commissioning activities in the substations.

Capstone experience: Relay Setting tracking process for field implementation based on priority will be

key initiative to focus process improvement. Opportunity to collaborate with field personnel and

Protection & Controls Engineering department working with supervisor.
