Eversource Energy Project Manager, Transmission in Hartford, Connecticut
Job Description Summary:
Individual will actively lead transmission and large distribution project teams in Connecticut and western Massachusetts and ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Will plan and manage numerous projects concurrently.
Requires a self-starter with effective communication skills, including active listening, speaking and writing skills. Primary duties include overall responsibility for the management of all aspects of projects assigned including the coordination of regulatory approvals and interface with regulators, local elected officials and town department managers; managing the development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design and construction services, as well as for the procurement of required materials/equipment.
Successful applicant will work closely with personnel in Transmission Planning, Engineering, Siting and Construction Services, Licensing and Environmental Permitting, Real Estate/Rights-of-Way, Procurement, Operations (construction/maintenance), Field Engineering (test and commissioning), Outage Planning, Investment Planning, and Legal. They also ensure all aspects of projects are documented and completed in accordance with all company policies, regulations and laws.
This individual understands and applies project management theories and methodologies, utilizing a variety of related project controls, tools, and techniques. Previous experience working in team environments as well as supporting process improvements and group facilitation. Able to investigate and solve problems, analyze data, and write effective reports. Can monitor and analyze cost and scheduling information, provide forecasts, make recommendations, and interact with others at all levels of the organization. Can cope with deadlines, manage time, set and manage priorities, define roles and responsibilities and make sound decisions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Limited travel will be required to project sites and stakeholder locations. Working in an office environment as well as field environments including high voltage substations and utility Rights-of-Way will be required. The successful applicant will be assigned an emergency restoration role as well.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred); Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or the equivalent degree will be considered. Master’s Degree and Project Management class work are also highly desirable
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of related experience required; familiarity with Project Management methodologies is highly desirable. Experience with project siting and permitting processes are also desirable.
Licenses & Certifications: Professional Engineer's (PE) License and formal Project Management certification (PMP) are highly desirable.
