South Jersey Industries Systems Trainer Senior in Green Lane Division, New Jersey

Position Summary

A career in Technical Training will provide the opportunity to provide training that is required to perform maintenance and work on infrastructure, such as operation qualification training regulated by the government. Roles also include may include training related to the use of computers, computer systems or applications, machinery, or other technical products. This typically includes overseeing the development and implementation of such activities, collaborating with other functions to ensure training material is accurate and reflective of skills needed/desired.Roles within Technical Training are responsible for the overall learning and development for the organization. The team is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating employee development plans and programs to support the organizational needs to comply with state regulations.

Roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:• Independently planning and executing assigned tasks that support routine activities and project goals• Helping select appropriate methods and techniques in performing tasks• Collaborating with supervisory personnel to develop routine methods and demonstrating good level of understanding project goals and methods• Recommending alternatives, identifying new methods and techniques and proactively seeking out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems• Participating in group meetings. Presenting results of work, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work

This role is not only addressing the need to provide on-going Maximo system training for Operations, but also providing training on dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions for Operations for a full end-to-end training.

This Systems Trainer will be using and training on various software's including, but not limited to:

  • I BM Maximo, Microsoft PowerBI, and other systems or analytical applications (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, etc.).

  • Fieldbook, MWM, GIS

This role will be a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. This role will resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. This role is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. You will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. It is expected that you will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Additionally, you will network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.It is expected that your role is proficient in most types of works within the group/project team and may act as a technical resource for less experienced employees. Additionally, it is expected that you may present results in team meetings. You will receive little instruction on day-to-day work and receive general instructions on new assignments. Your role typically reports to Managers.Additionally, the level and nature of interaction of your role includes:• Not having supervisory responsibilities, but providing informal guidance to new team members• Beginning to establish recognition with lower level Associates/ Specialists as a technical resource and may act as a mentor to junior staffThis is a role that contributes through own efforts and application of expertise, skills, or tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or;

  • Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Preferred experience using and/or training on IBM Maximo, Microsoft PowerBI, and other systems or analytical applications (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, etc.).

  • Preferred candidate has natural gas or utility experience
