4832BRJob Title:Engineer - Material ScienceRequisition Number:4832BRTitle:Engineer - Material ScienceLocation(s):WI - Green Bay, WI - MilwaukeeCompany(s):We Energies Summary:We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group is seeking an Engineer - Material Science for Milwaukee, WI or Green Bay, WI location.This position is in our Power Generation business unit corporate engineering group. The Engineer will have knowledge of welding and metallurgy. The position will provide support to our power generation facilities on welding, materials selection, metallurgy, and materials processing. The engineer will be responsible for the welding program and will prepare and qualify new welding procedure specifications as needed.Responsibilities:• Lead forensic failure analysis and participate in component life assessment.• Contribute to Root Cause Analysis investigations to resolve material failures and contribute to resolutions.• Interpret governing codes and standards as applied to our equipment and facilities.• Corporate liaison with the Authorized Inspector and government authorities concerning welding and materials issues.• Provide direction and training to in-house personnel concerning welding, metallurgy, inspection/NDE, quality assurance and related subjects.• Participate in national professional societies, code committees, and industry focus groups involved with welding technology.This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer/Engineer/Sr Engineer). Experience will be the determining factor.Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Material Science, Welding Engineering preferred)• Strong analytical capabilities are required• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential• Must possess a valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:• Professional Engineering license in Wisconsin.
