Accountabilities

  • Take the reins in overseeing our water and wastewater systems, guiding a team towards success

  • Play a pivotal role in maintaining water quality, responding to customer concerns, and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing training, keeping up-to-date with environmental regulations and industry advancements

  • Direct daily checks and maintenance on wells, pumps, and other crucial equipment

  • Supervise and training staff to operate safely and efficiently, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

  • Handle administrative tasks, including budget management, report writing, and compliance with regulatory agencies

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on water distribution and wastewater collection systems

  • Monitor water quality and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate efforts to resolve issues promptly

  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the Wastewater industry

  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Wastewater Operator III or equivalent

  • Previous leadership experience desired

  • Specialized knowledge of wastewater systems, safety practices, and regulatory requirements

  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications, such as ADEQ Grade 4 Operator License

  • Class A CDL preferred

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and coach team members effectively

  • Capacity to handle varied tasks and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment
