Supervisor, Resource Management Support


This role leads and manages the back office functions of the Resource Management organization. This leader manages the performance of approximately 15 clerical union personnel that handle the daily field support, customer contact and back office tasks to ensure our resources are managed efficiently and the field data is updated accurately and timely. The goal is to ensure that tasks are completed timely and in accordance with established goals, objectives and regulatory requirements.

Functional Expertise:

  • Ensure internal procedures are followed and actions comply with company and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure customers receive excellent customer service for inquiries related to job scheduling

  • Ensure at-risk appointments are notified

  • Ensure dispatching operation support is provided

  • Ensure field order data entry is entered timely and accurately

  • Ensure work order exceptions are resolved timely and accurately

Business Acumen:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure internal processes reflect a commitment to a customer-centric environment

  • Use analytical ability and problem solving skills to identify and resolve various issues that may arise

  • Engage in continued process improvement with automation and technology improvements


  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, respect and fairness toward employees

  • Provide frequent employee feedback on performance

  • Ensure employee developmental performance gaps are addressed

  • Engage with and support internal functional leaders

  • Ensure that customers receive quality service

  • Participate in Resource Management duty supervisor rotation

Driving Results:

  • Performance management of staff including setting expectations, evaluating results and taking corrective action as needed

  • Monitor performance to ensure accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks

  • Establish tracking system for tracking resource management and field operations back office work to ensure task completion as needed

  • Monitoring results and making course corrections and process improvement when needed

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of experience in gas distribution operations


  • Bachelor’s degree with previous leadership experience in gas distribution operations

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to build a good rapport and engage with team and stakeholders

  • Able to manage employees in union environment

  • Is dedicated to meeting the expectations/requirements of all customers (internal/external)

  • Able to make timely decisions

  • Able to monitor process, progress and results

  • Able to solve problems and implement effective solutions

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office-Excel. PowerPoint and Word

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Previous supervisory experience, especially with union workforce

  • Knowledge of customer information system (CCB)

  • Expert proficiency with MS Office-including Access

  • Proven process improvement experience

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment in a 24/7 operation.

  • After-hours and weekend availability may be needed depending on nature of situation.

  • Participates in Resource Management duty supervisor rotation
