This role is fully competent in all conventional aspects of the subject matter. Second level position in the engineering series provides engineering support in designated company area, or specific engineering discipline. Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, research and design. Provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendation based on calculations (e.g. cost for equipment upgrade) for management review. Distinguished from Engineer I by increased complexity in application of engineering skills required. Under direction of supervisor or work leader, exercises independence in evaluating, selecting and applying standard or well defined engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables.
Guides business operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats.
Designing new and improving current practices and computer program interfaces by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing supporting specifications and test plans while maintaining business and system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Developing forecast modeling, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends into technical reports.
Drives department efficiencies through improved utilization of computer systems including software interfaces and use of emerging technologies like bots, AI, machine learning with pattern recognitions as
planner activity historical and forward looking – e.g., PM forecasting, commodity patterns cross stations, etc.
QA Code application per vendor, per commodity type, etc.
Marketing Personalization for users on SharePoint
Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
3+ years directly related experience
Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals
Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position
Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives
Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management
Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.)
Experience with SharePoint Design 2010, SAP Hana, MS Office Suite, Cognos, IBM Maximo/PAMS
