This role recommends and administers various company safety and industrial hygiene policies and programs . Provides oversight , coaching , advice , technical expertise and training on safety , industrial hygiene , ergonomics, construction, and operational work methods . Acts as a first responder to safety incidents and gathers and evaluates accident data. Conducts root cause analysis of safety incidents and recommends preventive actions. Identifies potential safety risks and implements corrective measures. Performs safety inspections and monitors and evaluates work practices to ensure compliance with all OSHA, regulatory and company safety policies and programs. Maintains awareness of governmental regulations and policies that may impact company operations. Tests, researches, and recommends new tools, systems and equipment, and ensures compliance with technical specifications. Develops, implements, and conducts safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics training and presentations. May administer public safety programs for internal and external stakeholders such as first responders, contractors, and schools. Assists in the development of Accident Prevention Manuals, and technical training programs and materials. Provides expert advice and solutions to peers, customers, and co - workers. Works closely with managers, supervisors , safety commi ttees , and other colleagues to develop risk reduction plans and supports other safety initiatives. Investigates third party safety incidents, often working closely with the claims department and regulators . Identifies, evaluates, and controls chemical exposures in the workplace, and performs other industrial hygiene related activities such as coordinating hearing conservation , respirator, and medical surveillance programs .

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
*Directly related work experience means developing and/or administering safety or industrial hygiene related programs in a workplace environment.
5+ years of directly related work experience with a Bachelors ; or
7+ years of directly related work experience with Associates; or
9+ years of directly related work experience with an HS/Technical/GED ; or
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, Wl - W2, or 01-03 plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of directly related work experience as outlined (above/ below).
In-depth knowledge of applicable safety regulations and requirements;
Technical expertise in applicable job specific disciplines;
Full knowledge of applicable hazardous material/chemical management and transportation; Job specific knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling and surveying techniques;
Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal and coaching skills; Good public speaking/presentation skills;
Strong planning and organizational skills; Strong analytical skills;
Proficient computer skills;
Ability to perform accident/incident investigations
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor of Science
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
