We are currently seeking an Engineering Compliance Records Tech for our Gastonia, NC office. What You Will Do:

Receives, organizes, analyzes, and evaluates Work Order and Project documentation. Ensures Work Order and Project records are accurate, traceable, verifiable, and complete regarding natural gas transmission, distribution, storage, and processing facilities. Ensures 49 CFR Part 192 code compliance. Performs and/or assists in State and Federal records audits. Trains less-experienced team members. Validates that records have accurate metadata for future retrieval and viewing by Compliance personnel during State and Federal DOT audits, and for Operations personnel or other personnel in emergency situations for locating and marking gas facilities. Assists and trains others analyzing and identifying pipeline information that is incomplete, missing or conflicting. Assists with gathering and updating of Records Management workflow and procedure documentation, using input from users. May assist customers with questions. May provide direction when supervisor or team lead is unavailable. Directs contractor records related work efforts based on business needs. May review and provide input on records standardization practices for business. Ensure one to one match of asset records in records management system and other business work management systems.

Who You Are:

At least 2+ years experience as an Associate Engineering Compliance Records Technician, or a combination of experience and education. Certification in Records Management preferred. Records management experience in Natural Gas Distribution or Pipeline industry preferred. Very good knowledge and understanding of document management systems, and how data is processed and stored. Very good knowledge and use of data storage and Repositories. Very good Knowledge of Capture software and Adobe Pro. Very good understanding and knowledge of company gas pipelines and facilities. Very good understanding of records management system WO and EF document configuration. Working knowledge in reconciliation of X-ray and GPS data spreadsheets. Working knowledge of naming convention standards and workflows. Ability to import and modify work order documents in company repository with accurate meta-data. Ability to operate computer proficiently, using specialized industry document repository and capture programs, and specialized equipment. Good knowledge and understanding of pipeline records document types. Good knowledge and understanding of company standard practices and 49 CFR Part 192 recordkeeping requirements. Ability to follow department engineering records procedures, workflows, and naming standards. Ability to determine all document types in current and historical documentation. Ability to determine accurate meta-data. Ability to manage and process large volumes of documents. Ability to complete tasks within deadlines, under stressful situations. Ability to determine missing Required WO documents in project documentation and knowledge of how to acquire them. Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, effectively.

Degree or equivalent experience

  • Associate's Degree

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of degree

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
