Position Summary
As an Assistant Manager within our Distribution Planning team at Oncor, you’ll lead and manage Distribution Planning activities associated with the development of plans and conceptual designs for customer-requested load additions. This role is responsible for customer request support functions including, but not limited to: providing new or additional service to customers, evaluating site economic development requests, responding to customer impedance requests, and reviewing internal right-of-way encroachment requests.
Key Responsibilities :
Review and validation of load projections for defined distribution planning area, and for coordinating the Annual Load Data Request (ALDR) response to Transmission Planning.
Implement processes and controls to ensure legal, regulatory, code, safety and standards compliance.
Lead the analysis of site-specific load additions to the distribution system (from general end use customers, electric cooperatives and economic development inquiries), and the preparation of conceptual design recommendations. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements associated with the line extension policy and collection of contribution in aid of construction.
Develop and maintain methodologies that govern the economic and reliable expansion of the electric distribution system to serve customer load requests.
Manage the process for responding to customer requests regarding the impedance of Oncor’s system at their location and details regarding their upline protective device.
Manage the process for providing Distribution Planning input for internal right-of-way encroachment requests.
Manage the process for producing the ten-year seasonal substation bank demand forecasts and the ten-year substation plans needed to satisfy Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT’s) ALDR requirements.
Represent Distribution Planning in internal and external stakeholder meetings that deal with customer requests.
Serve on company teams, industry committees or technical working groups to provide technical and analytical expertise.
Facilitate a high-performance team culture including hiring high-potential job candidates, providing mentoring to professionally develop team members, and demonstrating continuous improvement practices.

Ability to supervise, lead, motivate, and provide technical guidance to others.
Education & Experience :
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and 9+ years utility industry experience required.
Will consider applicants with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years utility industry experience lieu of above criteria.
Candidates with a Texas Professional Engineering Registration certification are encouraged to apply.
