Seeking a summer intern who has completed their sophomore year of study, has a cumulative college grade point average of 3.5 or better and able to work 40 hrs. per week May thru August. The intern will be responsible for preparing a project for I&M executives at the end of the internship. Mentors within the group will work with the student and supervise the assignment projects.

As a CSE you will under general supervision, proactively manage the company's relationship with the largest and most complex commercial and industrial customers by serving as the customers' single point of contact for Energy Delivery. The engineer strives for the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the delivery of electric service and account maintenance to each customer. Exceptional customer service is the goal, and is sought in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Energy Delivery organization.

Indiana Michigan Power Company in Fort Wayne, IN has an excellent opportunity for students with an interest in Electrical Engineering and Demand Side Management Energy Efficiency Programs. We're looking for someone able to interface well with business owners and maintenance engineers. Also, possess exceptional customer service skills and can help sell our products and services now and in the future. Under direct supervision, utilize engineering and scientific principles to perform technical and analytical studies. Provide assistance on projects that involve planning, application of equipment, construction, operation and maintenance of electric power system facilities. Incumbents in this position are responsible for assisting in and/or the performance of the following duties, or duties of a similar nature, under direct supervision.

  • Update, maintain and index engineering records and files.

  • Develop diagrams, drawings and specifications for System expansion, and equipment modifications and replacements.

  • Develop and maintain data for and conduct computer-oriented engineering and statistical studies.

  • Assemble test equipment and conduct tests.

  • Record and analyze test and statistical data.

  • Diagnose performance and failure of operational equipment.

  • Perform calculations and detailed engineering studies using scientific calculations and the computer system.

  • Develop, test, modify and document computer programs.

  • Conduct computer simulation studies.

  • Prepare cost estimates.

  • Prepare memoranda, reports and make presentations.

  • Visit System and supplier facilities for inspections and tests.

  • Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
