Purpose

This position reports to the Manager, Finance. Job responsibilities are primarily related to financial processing and intercompany accounting, details noted in the following section. This role needs to be able to manage their workload and be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Accountabilities

Intercompany Accounting

• Managing all incoming intercompany transactions.

• Ensuring that all transactions are reviewed for completeness and accuracy (ie: payroll, intercompany billings, corporate allocations).

• Reconciling intercompany payable/receivable balances with trading partners.

• Determining what needs to be done if there are found to be variances/issues and working with trading partner teams on any variances/issues to rectify.

Finance and Internal Controls

• Preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Ensuring that supporting documentation and files are in place that adhere to internal control guidelines.

• Compiling monthly data trackers for team and ensuring that they are adhered to and completed.

• Compiling amortization schedules or supporting files for journal entries.

• Supporting the external and internal audit processes by compiling data and answering questions.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Preparing monthly financial reports for management.

• Analyzing data and summarizing findings for management, as requested.

Budgets and Forecasting / Regulatory

• Working with managers to assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.

• Assisting with compilation of financial data for regulatory filings.

• Responding to regulatory requests for financial data.

Other

• Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Mentoring and training junior staff/students.

• Cross training and supporting others in the group with workload, as required.

Education and Experience

University - Bachelor degree or equivalent

3+ years of experience
